Abigail’s work explores elements of human psychology through incidental experiences and coincidental explorations. She uses video to collect samples from situations and experiences, to absorb atmospheres and observe character. Abigail views each space that she inhabits with a camera, as a mystery to be experienced and investigated without direction or intent, capturing subjects that present themselves. She sees herself as a gatherer of information and a collector of evidence.
Abigail uses videography to create sequences that are reflective, extended, time-based photographs. Recently sound has become increasingly important in her work, using rhythm and repetition to support the meditative pace of the imagery and to explore and enhance underlying themes.
