Kathy Ramsay Carr

Kathy graduated in Graphic Design, Printmaking and Illustration in 1975 and then worked in Mexico City for a number of years later becoming Head of Graphic Design in the Cultural Institute of the National University of Mexico.

After returning to the UK she began to paint full-time in a characteristically graphic style using strong gestural techniques alongside a sensitive use of colour. She is very much influenced by the elements and their effect in a moment on either the sea or landscape as the focus of her painting and the corresponding inner emotions associated with that experience. Kathy travels throughout the UK seeking inspiration particularly along the coastlines of Wales, Cornwall and Scotland. She can work both in small and large scale which makes her work suitable for both domestic and corporate environments.

Her work can be seen in a number of galleries throughout the UK and abroad.
