Odelle Morshuis

Odelle Morshuis studied at Otago University in New Zealand. Her recent paintings explore the way in which man has divided up the landscape over time into areas of existence. Cultural, economic and physical barriers have been created which restrict the movement of people and Odelle seeks to explore the tensions and spaces that exist in these areas of exclusion and inclusion. Using the process of removing and layering of paint and adding textures such as ground stone, paper, nails she creates paintings which evoke memories of a changing landscape and the people/space caught in between.
