Education
New Horizons
This year we have begun an exciting new venture, supporting the Government’s Diploma in Creative and Media at Priory secondary school in Lewes, by providing week long tailor made placement projects for students. We will also continue to offer work experience for students taking Art GCSE.
For some time now we have been considering ways of exploring activities beyond the traditional exhibiting remit of a commercial gallery. Many of our artists have an interest in art education, with experience lecturing, or working with adults or young people, and combined with our Four Square Films initiative, which aims to stimulate questions on the nature of creative expression, it became apparent that an educational programme was slowly emerging.
We look forward to creating a programme that shares our artist’s experiences and questions, through a range of projects, artists talks, workshops, podcasts, and of course our ongoing series of films. We will also be creating a section on our links page of inspirational articles or video lectures, on the subject of creativity that you may enjoy. To get started here is a link to a recent TED lecture by the educationalist Sir Ken Robinson.
Look out for more details on our blog our newsletter, or back here in the education section.
